Terms of service.

1. Platform & Hosting

All websites are designed by DesignsbyRin and hosted on Squarespace. Clients are also bound by Squarespace’s own terms of service, privacy policy and hosting fees. Clients must use their own business or personal credit card (which will be on file within Squarespace) for automatic annual hosting payment.

2. Domains

Client must purchase a new domain through GoDaddy or Squarespace or provide their already purchased domain name information to me to transfer name server to Squarespace. This is a transaction between Domain registrar and client. It is the clients responsibility to manage their domain subscription, if outside of Squarespace, to upkeep website.

3. Design & Development

The design scope and pricing will be discussed and agreed upon before project begins. DesignsbyRin offers two website packages, Essential Site and Premium Site, each with different offerings.  Additional revisions or work outside of the original scope of work will incur an extra fee. This includes any additional Pages, Features, or Add Ons requested by the client. In addition, Squarespace fees for additional features, such as but not limited to, emails campaigns, e-commerce, and processing payments will incur an extra fee. (see Section 5 & 6). There are typically 3 rounds of website review before launch. Once site is live, DesignsbyRin will review site live to ensure all links and website functionality is working properly.

4. Ongoing Maintenance & Management

Ongoing website maintenance is available for an additional monthly or hourly fee, as agreed upon. The monthly maintenance fee of $200 includes light website edits and general upkeep. These updates can include image swaps, content edits, and promotional banners or announcements. As long as you are enrolled and current on payments, DesignsbyRin will manage your website accordingly.

Any requests that fall outside of minor updates; including but not limited to new page or store creation, design changes, added functionality, or additional features would be considered outside of scope. These requests will require a separate scope of work and will be discussed, approved, and invoiced prior to the start of any additional work.

If maintenance services are discontinued by the client, or if Designs by Rin elects to transfer website management back to the client, full responsibility for all website upkeep, updates, and security will become the client’s responsibility moving forward.

A Squarespace username and password will be created and provided to the client, granting administrative access to the website and/or ownership for ongoing management and/or full transfer, if applicable.

5. Revisions & Hourly Work

If there is no monthly maintenance plan in place, any smaller design revisions, content or images updates, and any other service requests made after project completion or outside of a maintenance agreement are billed at an hourly rate. For larger changes, re-designs, new features, new pages, new requirements / add- ons, etc. that will require a new scope of work and invoice will be sent to client.

  • My current hourly rate is $75 per hour

  • This rate is subject to review and may change year over year

  • You will be notified in advance of any rate changes

6. Squarespace Fees

DesignsbyRin website packages include creative development only. Annual hosting fees, Email campaigns, Ecommerce / ach payment processing, memberships, bookings, donations, etc. are an additional monthly cost between Squarespace and client and will automatically charge card on file, if features are requested.

7. Payment Terms

All invoices must be paid in full before a site goes live or services are rendered. Payment must be made in the form of business or personal check or Zelle. Ongoing service or maintenance fees must be paid on time to avoid disruption. Clients card on file must be able to incur Squarespace monthly fees (if applicable) and annual hosting fee. Late or missed payments may result in paused services or additional late fees through Squarespace and DesignsbyRin.

8. Cancellation & Handoff

If client does not wish for DesignsbyRin to manage website after creation, client will have full control of site and backend via Squarspace log in. If there is monthly maintenance terms and client wishes to cancel, they may cancel at any time with written email notice before the start or new month. No refunds will be provided.

If DesignsbyRin discontinues management services, written notice will be provided and a transfer administrative access will be provided with instructions to take over your Squarespace site. I am not responsible for issues or payments that arise after the handoff. You will also have access to your website while site is ran through DesignsbyRin through Squarespace admin capabilities once a username and password is created.

9. Intellectual Property

Once full payment has been received, the final website and content are yours to own, manage, and advertise. I retain the right to display the project in my portfolio and on social media accounts, unless requested otherwise. DesignbyRin creation mention will be displayed at the bottom of your site.

10. Limitation of Liability

I am not responsible for Squarespace outages, third-party plugin issues, client error, or cyber incidents outside my control.

11. Modifications to Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Clients will be notified of major changes.
